My beautiful family, October 2014
The end of the year is nigh, and this will be my last post for 2014.
Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has supported Distractions of a Busy Mother and Bedtime Stories for Busy Mums – it’s been an incredible year for me as a writer, and I have appreciated your help, comments, feedback and friendship, especially in some of the tougher times.
Brisbane Writers’ Festival was a highlight, both as a speaker and a listener. As a result, I have found a real passion for facilitating workshops about the benefits of Journaling, and am looking forward to visiting schools, businesses and organisations in 2015 and beyond to help others use Journals as a way to reflect, process and problem-solve.
My darling husband has eaten enough baked beans now for a lifetime, so sadly, I have had to give up full-time writing and enter the workforce once again. I have been lucky enough to land a fantastic job working for AwardsandTrophies.com.au as their Proof-reader, Blogger and Social Media gal. It’s a local business, so I can walk to work, and the hours match the children’s school time, so I can do drop-off, pick-up and have holidays with them. I must thank Russ and Annette Colpoys for giving me the wonderful opportunity to work for them. I’m very excited to start their new blog, “The Story Behind the Award”, telling the wonderful tales that lead up to the presentation of the trophies. Each one has a story to tell and I’ll be looking for the most interesting, heartwarming and humorous ones to share… watch this space!
My children nearly have their mother back, my husband is on holidays in about an hour and we are going to crack on with renovations, sailing, exercise, music, painting, writing and healthy eating for 2015. Less time at the computer and more time with each other.
I’ll be starting back in February with monthly blogs, and throughout the year, finishing the edit of Salt, my Young adult novel about a teenage girl who beats some serious odds to get to where she wants to go, without the use of vampires, unicorns or wizardry…! Is it possible?!
Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2015 for all of you!
Love and hugs,
That oft-distracted, busy-but-loving Mum,
