Caylie Jeffery’s commentaries, whether on entertaining children, terrorist bombings or discovering a beautiful and rare tree, are deeply considered, accessible, amusing and above-all, inspiring. I’m going to read this book again, but this time in the mornings rather than at bedtime – to give me a daily dose of energy, positivity and thoughtfulness to take with me through the day.

An excellent book of short amusing, thought provoking stories for mothers. What a super read! The short stories are amusing and thought provoking. The chapters are short and are easy to read and fit a couple in before falling asleep after another busy day.

Bedtime stories for busy mothers is a heartfelt collection of honest, funny and thought-provoking stories. Caylie Jeffery is an author who knows that none of us are perfect and we all get up every day and do our very best – but a little smile or a helping hand goes a long way. This book is like an arm around your shoulders, just when you need it. The best gift I’ve found this year to give to some of my dearest friends.

Caylie Jeffery is such a gifted writer! I love her writing style! She always uses such beautiful words to describe things, they just melt on the tongue so to speak! She writes so thoughtfully and humorously,it’s such a pleasure to read, it’s really the perfect “bedtime stories for mothers”! Short and sweet stories, something to giggle, something to contemplate and so many fascinating and interesting experiences and adventures she is sharing with her readers. I can highly recommend it.

‘Bedtime Stories for Busy Mothers’ is like a hot bowl of chicken soup for the weary mama’s soul. I laughed, and I cried, and I saw myself and my own joys, fears, dilemmas, and obsessions in the pages of this book. And I felt a little bit more normal again. A wonderful read, written from the heart.

This book is a must-read for any mum. It will make you laugh, sigh, nod in agreement and most of all help you realise we don’t always make the right choice the first time but we can learn and grow as we move along the pathway of parenting. Looking for the perfect gift for a busy mum, this is definitely it!

The book left me wanting more; more stories and more insights from a fascinating lady whose words flows on the page like a salve for the weary busy motherly soul.
Yvonne Mes – Children’s Author, Blogger and Mother
Jeffery’s writing style is cleverly conversational and she is clearly a gifted writer – easy to read is never easy to write. In these stories, Jeffery takes a commonplace situation and unpacks it, discusses it, and puts it back together in a way that makes you reflect on your own experiences, not just as a parent, but as a person. It makes you want to be the chicken soup for someone else’s soul!
Poppy Gee – Author, Bay of Fires
Caylie makes every mother feel better about the chaos, reminds us that temporary insanity while packing school bags is normal and assures us that we are just one child-hug away from peace and serenity. A brilliant book.

Caylie’s presentation on ‘Being a School Writer in Residence’ was absolutely amazing. Professionally presented with practical information based on research and experience, and a wealth of resources gave our members all they needed to know from how to approach schools, to how to develop a writing program and work with children in a school environment. Caylie’s dedication to her role as a writer, mentor and presenter of workshops was infectious, her presentation was one of the most popular sessions last year and Caylie was professional and approachable.
